Our first Christmas away from home!:(

Although we weren't able to go home for Christmas this year, we still had a great time!! A few days before Christmas we went to a place here in NC called McAdenville (it is nicknamed Christmastown USA). It is a little town that is decorated every year with tons of lights and trees and nativities, and it is in the top places in the US for most lights per square foot:) here were some of my favorite pics from there...

I had to work a couple of different days on Christmas week, which is why we weren't able to go home. But the days I had off were a lot of fun! We went ice skating... Bowling.... Shopping... Daily walks outside... And lots of face time with family on Christmas Day:) 

Tyler even did his own special wrapping job for one of my presents he put under the tree for me... He used a blanket to wrap a sweater he got for me:) ha

We were able to relax a lot over the break, and it was a great Christmas. For New Year's Eve we went to some friends of ours party and it was a great time too! We have really enjoyed living here in Raleigh, and will be sad to leave soon, but are very excited for our next adventure:) I hope you all had a great Christmas and happy new year!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Not like an Idaho Christmas that we're used to though... Yesterday the temperature was 73* and I was outside in a t-shirt and capris, and today it is supposed to be about 80*!! This is my kind of Christmas:) we have a real tree that is huge and gorgeous, and there are massive trees at all the shopping centers too! It is so fun:) the only thing were missing is our families:(

We have decided on a dental school.... Tyler will be starting at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in June!!! We are very excited:) kind of nervous for all of the big changes and everything, but overall we feel excited and extremely blessed and grateful!!

Tough Mudder, Thanksgiving, & BIG NEWS!!!!

The first weekend in November we went to Charlotte to watch the guys I work with do the tough mudder... It was seriously awesome! I wanted to do it, but I chickened out when I heard that they use electro shock therapy for some of the obstacles!! Ha but it was super fun watching them, and maybe one day I'll get over the fear of it and do one myself:) here are a few pics: 

On to a new topic.... For thanksgiving we had a few days off of work, but not quite long enough to go all the way to Idaho. So we went to Florida for thanksgiving and stayed with Tyler's sister and their family! It was really fun... We shipped quite a bit, including Black Friday shopping, went to the beach, hung out at the pool, ate lots of yummy food, and just relaxed and enjoyed being together:) we were really happy to be with family for the holiday! These are some of our most recent big events. We have been having a great and super busy past month or two, and look forward to more coming up! And for the BIG EXCITING news....

Tyler got ACCEPTED to dental school!!!! We are so thrilled about it:) he got into 5 different schools, so we are still trying to make our final decision, but we should know by Christmas or sooner! I am so proud of all of his hard work and dedication! He is such a smart boy, and I couldn't ask for a better, more hard working husband. I will update when we decide on where we will be going!!

Halloween costume winners! Oh ya:)

This year for Halloween we went to a Moxie work party and it was super fun! There was a chili cook-off, cake walk, costume contest, lots of candy, truck-or-treating (the boys all decorated their moxie trucks for it), and lots of fun friends! Ty and I won the costume contest!!! Yay!!:) we dressed as 'guess who' characters!

It was a great Halloween this year! I love the fall time because all of the holidays are always so fun to celebrate with friends and family! I am excited for thanksgiving and Christmas too. For thanksgiving we are going to Florida to spend the holiday with Tyler's sister and her little family, we are so excited!! And unfortunately for Christmas we don't get to be with any family, so anyone is welcome to come visit us if you want!:) ha I hope you have a great weekend!!

Charleston, SC!

About 2 weeks ago Tyler had an interview in Charleston, SC. I got to go with him for the weekend, and we stayed with some really awesome friends:) after going there for the interview I fell in love with it, and I totally want to live there!! It is the cutest little place ever with lots of very old houses/buildings and lots of history. and another bonus is that it's on the coast, so lots of ocean prettiness:) 

we went on a ghost tour one night while we were there, went to the ocean, toured the school and old buildings there (including an antique dentist an medical office), went to the oldest plantation in the U.S called drayton hall, and had lots of yummy food (Ty even tried crab for his first time)!! Anyways, we had lots of fun and completely enjoyed Charleston! If you have never been there, you should go! Especially if we move there for dental school, we would love visitors:) ha now Ty is off to an interview in Glendale, AZ and then to one in South Jordan, UT this week! It has been a lot of traveling for him this past month, but he has done great and I'm so proud of him! Keep your fingers crossed that he will get accepted to at least one school:) have a wonderful Sunday!
